Located a few miles outside of Chattanooga, Cumberland Caverns is the state’s largest show cave, displaying some of the largest underground rooms in eastern America. In addition to waterfalls, gleaming pools and spectacular formations, it even sports a ¾ ton “chandelier.” The historic 1812 saltpeter mine is featured on every tour, as well as “God of the Mountain,” an original underground pageant of light and sound. Bring your walking shoes and camera for this one and a half hour tour.

See the world’s highest underground waterfall at Ruby Falls, located on Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga. The 145’ waterfall is as fascinating as the caverns that surround it. Millions of visitors have toured the cave and have been fascinated by the waterfall since 1929. Open every day except Christmas.

These trolley style rail cars have carried riders along “America’s Most Amazing Mile” for more than a century. As it climbs historic Lookout Mountain, the Incline reaches a 72.7% grade of track near the top.
